Identification
Physical description:
Brownish-yellow in colour, 13-16 mm long.
Flattened body with two long antennae.
Two dark stripes running down the back of the thorax.
Nymphs (young cockroaches) are smaller and wingless,

But resemble adults.
Habitat:
Prefer warm, humid environments.
Found in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and other areas with food and water sources.
Often hide behind appliances, under cabinets, and in cracks and crevices.
Feeding habits:
Omnivorous, feeding on a variety of food sources including:
Crumbs, food debris, and garbage.
Pet food.
Dead insects and other organic matter.
Behaviour
Life cycle:
Females lay egg capsules (oothecae) containing 30-40 eggs.
Nymphs hatch and go through several molts before reaching adulthood.
The entire life cycle takes about 60-100 days.
Activity patterns:
Primarily nocturnal, coming out at night to forage for food and water.
May be seen during the day if the infestation is severe.
Signs of Infestation
Visual signs:
Seeing live cockroaches, especially at night.
Finding dead cockroaches.
Observing dark droppings resembling coffee grounds or black pepper.
Egg capsules (oothecae) in hidden areas.
Smear marks left by cockroaches on surfaces.
Behavioural signs:
Musty or oily odour, particularly in kitchens and bathrooms.
Food and utensils appear greasy or contaminated.

May carry and spread bacteria, viruses, and parasites.
